MAP Studio Cafe is proud to announce The London debut of up-and-coming pianist Alexander Dubovoy, who recently moved to the UK from New York. He will play songs from his new EP Portraits Drawn without You, which was recorded with 11-time Grammy-Award-winning recording engineer Jack Renner. He is joined by London-based bassist Inga Eichler and drummer Will Edwards to form a unique and dynamic trio including piano, bass, and drums. This is a new trio featuring a brand-new repertoire which will be highly interactive and improvisatory.

Alexander Dubovoy: Pianist, singer, and composer who just moved to London. He graduated from Yale University in May 2016 with a BA in History focusing on the Soviet Union. At Yale, he founded a successful student initiative to start a jazz program. He has played at top NY venues and toured internationally. His first solo album Portraits Drawn Without You was released over the summer and recorded by Grammy-winning recording engineer Jack Renner.

Inga Eichler: Bassist, singer, educator, and composer and has recently graduated from a  Masters at the Royal Academy of Music, receiving tutelage from Dave Holland, Pete Churchill, Jasper Hoiby, Barak Schmool and Mark Sanders. Coming from a jazz background she has played at many venues and Festivals like the Sheperd’s Bush Empire, Queen Elisabeth Hall, the Vortex Jazz Club, Barbican, Love Supreme Festival and Latitude Festival and has toured both the UK and Europe. Inga has recorded an EP with Best Emerging Jazz Artist Nominee (JazzFM) all-female septet Nerija.

Will Edwards:  Drummer, arranger, educator, and producer. Some drumming influences include, Mark Guiliana and Buddy Rich. Having graduated from the University of York with a first class degree, Will currently studies at the Royal Academy of Music on the jazz performance course. His orchestration work includes The Bluestocking! by Alex Thomas. Will also teaches production for Fire Tech Camp.
